Goldfish Wedding Centerpieces

Goldfish Wedding CenterpiecesWhen in the quest for new and interesting table decorations for your wedding, you are sure to come across the idea of using goldfish wedding centerpieces as part of your wedding decorations. A popular wedding centerpiece has always been goldfish bowls or wide mouth bowls with decorative rocks, candles and mirrors, as it can be a very pretty centerpiece. But now, many brides are using actual fish in their wedding centerpieces, to create goldfish wedding centerpieces. Personally, I’ve been to many parties and fancy dinners where goldfish wedding centerpieces were used on the tables, and it can be  very pretty wedding centerpiece idea.  Of course, as with using any live creature in your wedding decorations, there are some upsides and downsides to wedding centerpieces with goldfish that you need to know about before making the decision to use goldfish wedding centerpieces.

Why Goldfish Wedding Centerpieces are Great

You’ll find there are several reasons that goldfish wedding centerpieces can be such a great addition to your wedding decorations. Not only will goldfish wedding centerpieces ensure that your table centerpieces are unique and different, but they aren’t very expensive either. The bowls, rocks and fish are relatively inexpensive, for the centerpieces, entertainment, and gifts that they can be later. Yes, I did say gifts. Once the wedding is over, hand out the goldfish wedding centerpieces to friends and family, along with some food and instructions for taking care of their new pet. Either designate specific people who will get one of the goldfish bowls, have a door prize to win, or just leave it up to the table on who goes home with the fishbowl. Whatever you choose to do with your goldfish wedding centerpieces, you at least know that you wont be stuck with a hundred bowls and fish to take care of when you get back. Plus, this centerpiece works great with an under the sea or beach wedding theme.

Why Goldfish Wedding Centerpieces May Not Be So Great

As I mentioned before, there are some drawbacks for using goldfish wedding centerpieces. I did say that I’d been to events and parties before where centerpieces with goldfish were used, and sometimes they were really disappointing. Many brides and party planners don’t look into how to care for the fish properly in the bowls, and many times the goldfish will die before the event is over. And I’m sorry, but having a goldfish floating belly up on your wedding tables may not the best sign for a long and happy life!  Also, while they are great to have around kids, make sure that the kids are closely monitored so nothing foreign enters the bowl, and the fish stays where he belongs too!

Goldfish wedding centerpieces can be a charming and unique living centerpiece that your guests will love. Having a table centerpiece that is living can really provide a lot of entertainment for your guests, and is something to consider.
