Planning A Wedding is Hard!

Planning a WeddingYou’ve waited your whole life to find the right groom, and to get the ring on your finger. Congratulations! Now you get to plan the wedding of your dreams. Welcome to the most difficult and stressful event that you’ve ever had to plan yourself. Planning a wedding is hard, overwhelming, and the most expensive day of your life. I remember when I got engaged, I got tired just thinking of all the work that had to be done in planning a wedding. So if you’ve just got married, and are facing the initial stages of planning a wedding, I’m here to help. Here are a few tips that you must do in order to keep your sanity during this time of your life.

Keep Your Cool Planning a Wedding

When your stressed and working so hard planning a wedding, it can be easy to lose your cool with the people closest to you. You should be enjoying this time of your life, excited about your wedding day and the new life you’ll start together as  a couple. So enjoy being in love.  Make sure that you have some way to burn off steam. Go running, do aerobics, kickboxing - anything that will let you get your frustration out AND help you get lean for your wedding day. Also, have a date night where you refuse to talk about wedding plans and where you are on your wedding planning. Your wedding will be over in just a few months, but your marriage will last a lifetime - so be sure to cultivate the relationship you have with your fiancee.

Delegate the Menial Tasks

Many brides are so excited about planning a wedding of their dreams that they don’t want to miss a bit of it and want to do everything themselves. It’s a sure fire way to ensure you get stressed out! Delegate some of the menial tasks, such as addressing envelopes or calling around to check prices to someone else, a parent, bridesmaid or friend. If you’re only inviting 30 people to your wedding it may not be such a big deal, but if you’re looking at addressing 300 wedding invitations, writing out 300 place cards and tying 300 little bows onto wedding favors - that can you worn out and overwhelmed fast!

Planning a wedding can be very overwhelming and difficult because there is just so much involved in making your wedding day perfect.  Don’t let the joy of planning your wedding be overshadowed by anxiety and unnecessary stress. Be sure to find a way to blow off steam and delegate unnecessary tasks to someone else.
