Wedding Planning Jobs
Do you find yourself wanting to do all of your wedding planning by yourself, without any kind of help? I think this is a pitfall that many brides fall into, myself included. When I got engaged, I found myself wanting to do all of my wedding planning by myself without asking for help, even on the small menial tasks like addressing envelopes and tying ribbons on all of my wedding favors. Even if you have a long time to plan your wedding, or are very good at time management so that you could get it done if you really wanted to, it may not always be a good idea. Doing everything yourself can be a recipe for disaster when it comes to getting yourself exhausted, stressed out, and overwhelmed by all of the minute details that go into planning a wedding. So if you are doing your wedding planning all by yourself, and I mean without the aid of a professional wedding planner, here are some great smaller jobs that you can hand off to friends and family who are eager to help.
Your Research Helper:
Ask a close friend or family member to help you find the deals in your area. Tell them what you are looking for in these locations and then ask them to call to get pricing and available dates, and then tour different sites for your wedding ceremony, and reception. If they see any they think would be perfect for you, to let you know and have you go tour them as well. This will save a lot of your time on the phone and traveling to different locations that aren’t right for you.
Your Invitation Helper:
Ask a good friend or family member with good handwriting to write out your wedding invitations for you. Give them a list of addresses of people to be invited, along with some pages for etiquette and reference on how your wedding invitations should be folded, arranged, and written. This also works with place cards if you choose to have them.
Your Wedding Favors Helper:
If you are not purchasing ready made wedding favors, and are planning on using homemade wedding favors, then make a few examples and ask a friend to make the rest of them. Be sure to buy them all the materials they need!
Your Decorating Team:
Be sure that you have help decorating your wedding ceremony and reception! You don’t have a lot of time to do everything the morning or day before your wedding, so ask a group of people to help you decorate and clean up after the wedding is over.
Your Payments Distributor:
On your wedding day you’ll need to pass out several payments to different people involved in your wedding such as the minister, any special music, photographer, hair and make up specialists, and other vendors who want to be paid on your wedding day. Write out the checks in advance, and place them in different marked envelopes and ask a friend to hand them out on your wedding day.
There are lots of different places where you can ask for help in doing your wedding planning. Any little bit that you can delegate will help to save your sanity as you go along, so it’s important to be honest with yourself on if each task is something that you need to do yourself versus something that you can delegate to someone else.
